In April the 15th, 2021 (03/09/1442 Hijri) a significant event took place for OJSC “Tawhidbank”. President of the Islamic Development Bank Dr. Bandar M.Kh.Khadjar and CEO of OJSC “Tawhidbank”, Zardov Sh.D. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation on Development of Economic Empowerment in the Republic of Tajikistan, which will serve in the best way the objectives of Tawhidbank and contribute to more effective activities of both parties, as well as the development and empowerment of economic opportunities in the Republic of Tajikistan. It should be noted that OJSC "Tawhidbank" together with the Islamic Development Bank will research the possibilities of developing and expanding the Financial and Economic capabilities of the Bank in Tajikistan through investment from the Islamic Development Bank by providing a package of financial instruments - Injection in the capital of the Bank, Provision of a long-term Line of Finance and a Grant for institutional development of Tawhidbank. The Islamic Development Bank is a multilateral Development Bank encouraged to promote the Economic Development and Social Progress of its member countries and Muslim communities in non-member countries (individually) by financing Economic and Social Development projects in accordance with Shariah principles. OJSC "Tawhidbank" is the first Islamic Bank in Tajikistan, the main goal of which is to promote the development of Islamic banking by actively supporting small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurs to ensure the socio-economic development of the country.
